Information We Collect

When you use OffsetC, we collect the following information:

• Names, Emails, and Passwords: To create and manage your account, we require your name, email address, and a password of your choosing. This information enables us to provide you with personalized services and support. We use Clerk to provide highly secure authentication to our application to ensure that passwords are

• Payment Information: Our app uses Stripe, a third-party payment processor, to collect and process payments. We do not store or manage any of your payment information. Please refer to Stripe's privacy policy for details on how your payment information is handled.

• Transaction History: OffsetC links to your financial accounts through Plaid, a financial data API trusted by Venmo and Paypal. Plaid uses state of the art security and privacy best practices to securely retrieve financial transaction information from your accounts. OffsetC accesses this information through Plaid and does not have any direct access to your financial accounts. When retrieving financial transaction history, OffsetC saves and processes only the transactions that are relevant to service we provide, we do not save or store additional transactions that are not part of the core service of offsetting your gasoline usage.

• Chat Information: We collect and store chat information to make the app experience more effective and enjoyable for you. This information will only be viewed on an anonymous basis for app improvement or on an identifiable basis as part of user support when you have requested such support.

• Usage Analytics: We collect certain analytics on the use of our product. This might be, for example, a count of how many users visited a certain page or clicked a certain button. This information is used to improve our product and create a better user experience.

Use of Your Information

The information we collect is used to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our services, including processing of the necessary information to provide you with accurate carbon offsets for your personal activity.

• Analyze and understand user interaction with our app through analytics, solely for the purpose of improving the app experience.

• Communicate with you, including sending you updates, support messages, and administrative messages.

• Enhance and improve our app and services.

We do not track users across other apps or websites and never sell user data.

Sharing Your Information

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Your personal information is never shared with any third parties, except as necessary for providing user support, enabling third party services that you select to use, and to meet any legal or regulatory requirements.

Data Retention

We will retain your personal data as long as you have an account with us. If you choose to delete your account, your data will be deleted from our systems within 30 days after account deletion. You may also request to have your account data deleted through customer support process. OffsetC will delete all data associated with you account, except for those data which are necessary for us to retain for legal or regulatory purposes.

We take reasonable and best practice measures to protect the information that we collect from or about you (including your payment information) from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.

Your Rights

• Account Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your account on OffsetC. Upon your request, we will delete your personal information from our records, except for any information we are obliged to keep for legal, audit, or security purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting a notice within our app. You are advised to review our Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
